Starting at fullback, Cheslin Kolbe has once again shown this past Saturday why he is one of France’s most beloved rugby stars.
In a Top 14 Semi-Final match against La Rochelle, he scored the 3 rd and final try for Toulouse, which firmly placed the team on top of the log with a record 98 points.
In a scintillating move of the right, he managed to outmanoeuvre several players, finally being brought down and scoring in the 65 th minute.
The first and second try was scored by Sofiane Guitoune and Sebastien Bezy respectively, helping to secure a 20-6 victory.
If Toulouse lifts the Bouclier de Brennus, this will be their first since 2012. They have been league’s most successful team, having previously won 19 times.
The match was played to a sell-out home crowd of 42000 spectators in Toulouse at the Stade Ernest-Wallon.
Toulouse will face Clermont in the final, which defeated Lyon 33-13 in their semi-final. The match will take place at 20:45 on Saturday, 15 June.
