According to EWN, Mark Minnie, one of the authors that exposed a paedophile ring of powerful apartheid ministers, has been found dead.
At this point, the reports suggests that the death is suspicious given that Mr Minnie’s body was found on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth.
A police docket has been opened.
Mr Minnie’s book, The Lost Boys of Bird Island, names three former National Party ministers as central figures in a paedophilia ring that operated during apartheid.
The ring ferried coloured boys to Bird Island in Algoa Bay where they were molested.
During the 1980’s, an investigation into the ring was stopped and the investigating officer was forced out of the police service.
The exposed ministers include Magnus Malan, John Wiley and third unnamed minister, as well as businessman, John Allen.
Malan died in 2011. Wiley and Allen both officially committed suicide in 1987.
Mr Minnie was a former cop who worked as a narcotics bureau detective during the 1980s.
