Coach Peter de Villiers has finally broken his silence to thank his supporters for their condolences and announced the date of his daughter, Odille Monk’s memorial service.
Last year, Odile had been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer and despite putting up a brave fight; she lost her battle on Sunday morning.
In a statement made on Facebook through his management team, the coach thanked everyone for their “kind messages and outpouring of sympathy”.
The statement went on further to note that “this is a very difficult time for the family” and as such the coach “appreciates your understanding and support”.
He invited everyone who wants to pay their respects to a memorial service which will be held on Friday, 20th December.
The service will start at 10am and will be held in Southern Paarl at the ‘Church on the Rock’, Louws Avenue.
